I'm probably going to be busy for a while.

Which means I shouldn't browse quite as much.

You of course are still free to bother me for anything you believe I might be able to do, I just won't be...loitering around as often.

OK...I have about an hour and a half to do this before I get on a plane to Florida, but... You know how I have a boatload of ideas that are all lying listlessly around in my head. Yeah. I remember a hell of a lot of them, as you probably very well know. I have a lot of characters and a lot of locations and certain plots that actually have endings, but all the characters fall flat of their intended purpose. Kira is too despondent, Lane is too capricious and crazy, Luke isn't vulnerable enough, Cassotis is only interested in the number of people she can sleep with, etc. Too many vices, not enough virtues!

In my world, everything is gray and cloudy and depressing and nothing ever gets better unless it makes something else worse. :( I can't make it glorious and wonderful and sunny, but tone is not the point of the story. Story is the point of a story. I need bombshell revelations and dynamic drama, suspense and plot twists, and most importantly, a cohesive story that doesn't pull cheap tricks and makes sense. Yes, I realize that's too much to ask for, but at the very least, it's a nice thought...

I need to kick Kira out of her corner of woe and get Lane to pull off some heroics for once, stop Cassotis from bemoaning the ancient past and make Luke carry out his master plans. Have Aira and Forrest grow up. Give Origin a reason to live. Give Ren and Kate a backbone so that they'll actually be able to talk to each other like sensible people. All of that stuff. Pure love will not save the world. Courage, cooperation, respect, and generosity will. But mostly the former two, because there is not nearly enough of it in the world. Why does the solution to moral issues always seem practically impossible to pull off...? It is education or stubbornness, or what?

Anyway, spinning yarns as usual. If you need prompts or something, I have too many stored up here in my head. Just expect them to be looong prompts.

She looks like...this. Used all the same techniques as last time, except for the highlights. Ooh, shiny.

Just drawing heads for now because...lineart irritates me. :( And drawing on my tiny tablet for too long kills my wrist. The zoom tool is your friend~

This particular character also has an awesome-looking staff that I have yet to finalize the design of--but it should look like something you would want to steal because it is just that valuable. "asdlkfjfglfkh What do you mean I lost it again?!"

The NamiexMika parts are the best, though--combining cattiness and rivalry with violence, mental instability and sexual tension! I never knew you two loved each other so much~

Tired, bored, irritated, the lot... Spent most of the day drawing. No writing. :(

I think I'll have to change the tone of the VN to suit my super-simple drawing style. If I try to make it serious, it won't fly. I'll just think that nothing's good enough and give up.

But if I let myself draw stupid crap and exaggerated expressions and ignore what the bare-bones outline looks like, I might be able to pull something off.

Maybe.

My head hurts. So does my stomach. I don't really know why I've been feeling so terrible over the past few days.

Gah, I haven't written that phrase recently. :(

On the other hand, her backstory (in other words, how she got all those cuts on her face in the first place,) is inspired by pulp horror movies. Maybe a little scary. More downright disgusting than anything, though.

Even still, it could be worse.

It's rougher because that's the actual size. It would look sharper if I didn't have to abuse the zoom tool so often, but that's how I drew it.

Also, because I am squeamish, she is my own brand of Nightmare Retardant. If you're upset, go do something that cheers you up! Moping over it will only make you feel worse.

True Remembrance was a good kinetic novel. I thought it was going to be pretty boring at first, but you get sucked into its leisurely pace. It kind of just...ended, but I enjoyed the ride, at least. And best of all, it's freeware. It's worth a lot more than some of the crap people pay to import.

I also redid Kira's hair for like the 5th time. It's not that spiky anymore (and thus it looks less moe). But she still has the cowlicks, which I am very picky about. The only problem is I never do anything with these characters. I'm stumped for ideas at the moment, but I still have ideas for fanfiction.

Did I mention that Celty is the most moe Dullahan ever? It's awesome.

Here is that clean thing I was talking about. That's almost the real size... Shoulda made it smaller. But that's what happens when you get the cheapest, most reliable tablet you can find... No, I still love you, Graphire4. You just break my hand.

My style hasn't changed much recently. :( But if I keep it this way I'll be able to draw a lot of characters in a shorter amount of time. Makes me wonder what my realism would look like if I tried... I guess that's what the art class I'm taking next year is for.

If I feel up to it, I might draw some BU fanart sometime or something. Gotta keep practicing...

Oh yeah, I left a lot of old stuff on my old computer... I was too lazy to copy everything over; I only have a few things like the ref pic of Noel + Sir Knight and a second-person POV concept for the VN.

Yay I finally drew something that actually looks clean. It's just a headshot, but the clean line art makes a huge difference. Also I accidentally found out how to airbrush hair sort of like the Blaze Union artist. All you really need are some really big brushes and a bit of patience...

Gah, I also need to figure out how to use these fill layers... They'd make things a hell of a lot easier.

I suppose I'll use clean line art from now on...pshh... I'd complain, but it looks too good so I can't say anything bad about it. I still can't say I'm really working on a project, though. :/

EDIT: ...It's actually getting cleaner in general... These headshot things are fun; I should draw more faces.

Also. This is a secret. But sometimes I have trouble making Kira look female. For some reason if I don't draw her face right she ends up looking bifaux, which I really do not want. The edits are so subtle, though; I'm not sure anyone else would notice.
